As a born foodie and someone that travels to eat it’s only right that I reveal the most delicious brunch spots in Medellin.
I spent 3 months sampling the city’s best breakfast and brunch restaurants. So get your mimosas ready, and let’s countdown the tastiest brunch spots in Medellin.
8. Café Revolución
LOCATION: Laureles
A local breakfast and brunch cafe with some fruity smoothie blends and green outdoor seating.
When I lived in Laureles I was a regular here every morning. The cafe has a warm community vibe, selling artisanal chocolates and pastries. The menu is a blend of staple western brunch dishes with a latin twist.
Prices are cheap even for Colombian standards, the banana pancakes with fruit will cost you $3
7. Ganso & Castor
LOCATION: Various Locations
Ganso and Castor is a french style restaurant, its outdoor seating allowing you to enjoy Medellin’s eternal spring.
The menu features all the classic brunch staples. Although the flavour aren’t too experimental, the dishes are very well done, and stick to the classic recipe. You can’t help feeling like you’re in a bistro somewhere in Southern Europe.
I particularly enjoyed their pancakes and chai hot chocolate.
6. Betty Bowls
LOCATION: Poblado
Betty bowls was rated top choice for vegetarians on both Trip Advisor and Lonely planet.
The restaurant is known for its intricately designed smoothie bowls, that combine edible flowers, exotics fruits and heathy grains for a taste explosion.

5. Click Clack Kitchen
LOCATION: Poblado
The Restaurant sits inside the luxury Click Clack hotel.
Thanks to the all day brunch you can treat yourself to some french toast at 8 o’clock at night!
The ambiance is earthy and moody, with dim lighting and beautiful indoor plants, a visual for the company ethics. They pride themselves on being eco-friendly, using mostly organic produce and ingredients.

4. Smash
LOCATION: Laureles
This one is for the avocado lovers.
In fact, the majority of the dishes at smash are made from avocados, like their green tacos and pancakes. However, the avocado taste isn’t overpowering, allowing for the traditional flavours of the dish to come through. They also have a good selection of blended smoothies and super juices.
Furthermore, Smash prides themselves on being eco-friending, using biodegradable packaging and buying from local suppliers
3. Saludpan
LOCATION: Laureles
Saludpan is one of my favourite restaurants period. It serves well seasoned, experimental vegan and vegetarian food. With a few fish dishes as well.
Even though I’m a full fledged carnivore, I really enjoy Saludpan’s flavours.
Known for their abundance of natural juices, they have an affordable menu of the day selection, that starts at $21,000 pesos ($5 USD)
But the best aspect of this restaurant is the natural health store inside. Their range is completely holistic, selling vitamins, plant based milks, superfood supplements, natural honeys and jams, fresh fruit, and homemade vegan gluten-free cakes.
So, Saludpan is a place you have to experience.
2. Crepes and Waffles
LOCATION: Throughout Medellin
Crepes and Waffles is a chain restaurant present throughout Colombia, with 16 locations in Medellin.
Hold on just one minute, don’t let it’s commercialism put you off! The food is actually of a very high standard. And although the name suggest its a desert place, the majority of the menu is savoury, which chicken and meat filled crepes, complex salads, and perfectly poached eggs.
Their selection is crazy hugeeee, with 6 different menus! So it will take you at least 20 minutes to decide what you want. My favourite dish is the creamy chicken, mushroom and cheese crepe.
Brunch only lasts until 12pm, but their lunch menus are just as good. The restaurant is a favourite for middle-class Colombian families, so be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend.
1.Hija Mia Nomada
LOCATION: Manilla
I’m going out put myself out there and say that Hija Mia Nomada has the best all-day breakfast/brunch menu in Medellin. The dishes are extremely complex in flavour, and you can tell the menu was very delicately and intelligently put together. For instance, the eggs Benedict is made with pulled pork and garnished with teeny apple slices, and the chicken burger bun is dyed black with charcoal and squid ink.
The kiwi owner Shaun seriously knows what he’s doing, this is his second Hija Mia restaurant, the first a lot smaller, focused solely on breakfast foods.
I had to stop myself from going here every single day while living in Manila. The prices aren’t the cheapest in Medellin, however are still very affordable compared to western brunch prices. You are ultimately paying for the high quality and service, as most of the waiters also speak english, which is a rarity in Colombia.
